Nimble POS: Rebuilt and redesigned system to showcase improved detail and visual aesthetic

My Role

As a freelance designer collaborating closely with the product owner and client, my role was instrumental in reshaping the Nimble POS system to embody a fresh and polished aesthetic. Working hand-in-hand with stakeholders, I translated their vision into tangible design concepts that reflected their desired brand image of professionalism and reliability. Through iterative design processes and open communication, I ensured that every aspect of the system, from the user interface to the overall user experience, resonated with the intended target audience. My contributions aimed to not only enhance the visual appeal but also elevate the functionality and usability of the system to meet the evolving needs of Nimble's clientele.

Overview

At Nimble POS, we embarked on a transformative journey to rebuild and redesign their existing system, aiming to elevate its detail and visual aesthetic while enhancing overall usability. Nimble approached me with a clear objective: to revamp their POS system to exude professionalism, credibility, and reliability. Despite the inherent technical complexities of their platform, our focus was on amplifying key features for a superior user experience. Particularly, our efforts were concentrated on refining the Dashboards, Manager experience, and Menu/Cashier experience to meet Nimble's vision of a modern, user-friendly POS solution

Approach

After conducting initial consultation meetings, I formulated a comprehensive project plan and timeline to guide our efforts. To kickstart the design process, I began by crafting mood boards showcasing three distinct style directions for the Nimble POS system. Collaborating closely with the product owner and client, we collectively decided on a style that best aligned with their vision and brand identity. With the direction established, I proceeded to create a detailed style guide, outlining key design elements, color schemes, typography, and visual treatments. These guidelines served as a blueprint for consistency and coherence throughout the project. Additionally, I took the opportunity to enhance the user experience (UX) by refining certain interactions and workflows while updating the user interface (UI) of the screens. This iterative approach ensured that the redesigned Nimble POS system not only looked visually appealing but also provided an improved and intuitive user experience.
